Yuri Gagarin (USSR)

Yuri Gagarin was, and still is regarded as a hero in Russia. He is famous and well-known for his involvement with the USSR in the space race. Yuri Gagarin became the first human to orbit the earth in outer space on April 12, 1961. At the time Yuri Gagarin helped the USSR to gain the upper leg in the space race.
