John F. Kennedy

Seeing that the United States was behind in the Space Race, John F. Kennedy proposed a plan of space exploration. A exploration that would definitively put the United States ahead of the Soviet Union, his plan was to put a man on the moon. John F. Kennedy announced his plans on September 12, 1962.

"We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard."
